  1. I definitely would consider that if I could afford it. Who wouldn't want to have all those menial chores taken care of for them? I don't know how far away we are from that technology, but I personally can't wait!
  2. I've never fallen prey to any kind of hoaxes or fake news because I try my best to verify any important information that I get, especially if it will affect my life and the decisions that I make in some way.
  3. One thing I know for sure, if we as a nation keep talking about war, and focusing on whether or not there will be one in the future, then we are contributing to the likelihood that there will eventually be one. Just one of the laws of the universe. What you focus on becomes your reality.
  4. I spent the better part of today looking all over the internet for some good sites for my six year old daughter to learn from and so far (other than the regular sites from her favorite cartoon networks or channels) I don't see any. Please help with any suggestions.
  5. I don't know much about building computers, and I think that the only reason I would attempt to build one myself would be if I really, really had to - maybe for financial reasons if it was cheaper to build or something like that. Otherwise, it would just be a stress for me to try that.
  6. They would definitely come up with their own way of communicating. Same as if you take a baby from an English speaking family and raise it in a Chinese home, that child would grow up speaking Chinese and not English.
  7. I gave up drinking soda a long time ago. It took me three attempts over the course of a year and a half, but I finally did it, and my body has been thanking me ever since. I do eat a lot more sugar than I would like, still, but all in all, I have been reducing my sugar intake and I'm happy with my progress.
  8. I would like to know how to make vegetables more appealing to a six year old. I have found that when I make the food visually interesting, she is more likely to eat and finish than when the food looks ordinary and plain. What new things can I try with vegs to encourage her to eat more of them?
  9. Never! Not in a million years. I love chocolate too much. And ice cream. And jello. In fact, I would be better of writing a list of sweets or desserts that I don't like because that one would be much shorter. I've been trying not to deny myself any of the things that I love, even though I'm on a healthier eating diet. This is because I've found that I'm more likely to lose control or willpower and end up binge eating if I deny myself too much. Instead I allow myself those treats occasionally but I do limit my portions to really small servings.
  10. Funny, 10kStars! But I totally get you about team sports. Sometimes it's great just to do your own thing in your own time. I am very competitive, though, and whatever sport I play, I always want to be better than whoever I'm playing against so it would be boring doing anything on my own.
  11. I love pasta, and I'm ever on the lookout for new ways to prepare it for my family. I would love to hear which recipes others here like most. For me it's Hot Italian Sausage and Tomato pasta. I would eat that everyday if I could.
  12. Wow, I would dearly love to see some pictures of your body, working out as much as you do, Guitar Guy! I exercise for 15 to 20 minutes every day. I do 30 seconds of HIT with 10 seconds rest. That's about it. I find that my weight has stayed constant for the past couple of years, and I'm getting toned slowly but surely. Also I have more energy throughout the day than I know what to do with.
  13. I also loved Terry Pratchett. His book "Wee Free Men" was one of my favorites growing up, and the heroine, Tiffany, was just so inspirational to eight year old me that I've never forgotten her. My all time favorite quote comes from that book: 'If you trust in yourself, and believe in yourself, and follow your star.... ....You'll still get beaten by people who spent their time working hard and learning new things and weren't so lazy!'
  14. I have checked the trailer out and I love what Les Bohem is doing with the series. I also loved Jeff in Burn Notice and I'm sure he will be giving another stellar performance here.
  15. Thanks for all the suggestions, guys. I've also heard a lot of great things about the benefits of water. I drink about eight glasses every day - which isn't easy. I think I'm starting to see some difference in the way I look and feel from doing exercises and eating healthier every day.
